Membership Information

2011-2012 After-School Program – 21st & Opportunity and Oaklawn Clubs

The Boys & Girls Clubs after-school program, which begins Wednesday, August 17th and ends Wednesday, May 23rd, is filled with fun, exciting and educational activities that will keep the kids happy and safe after school.

Requirements: The Boys & Girls Club is open to children ages 5 (on or before August 30th) to 18 years that are ambulatory and able to provide for their own personal needs in a 1:25 staff to child ratio setting. Participants not meeting the above requirements must complete and submit a special needs assessment form for review before admittance into the program. *A Parent & Member Handbook will be given for signature and support of Boys & Girls Club of South Central Kansas expectations.

Program Hours: The after-school program hours are Monday through Friday, between the hours of 2:30 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. The late fee is $1 per minute per child and begins at 7:15 p.m. (Oaklawn Club closes at 6:00 p.m. and late fees begin at 6:15 p.m.).

On-Site Activities: Each month is filled with fun activities that coordinate with a character word. The character words are: responsibility, fairness, trustworthiness, citizenship, caring and respect. Other activities include: science & technology, arts, physical education, homework help, sports, air hockey, foos ball, pool, table games, etc.

Program Fees: The cost per 9 week grading period is $25 per child and equals $100 for the school year. The cost covers daily activities, homework help and dinner. It also covers the district-wide in-service days listed below. We will be open 8am – 5pm on those days and will provide breakfast, lunch and a snack.

The 1st child in the family is $25/9 weeks = $100/school year.
Each additional child in the immediate family is $15/9 weeks = $60/school year.

Payment: The full 9 week payment is expected by the beginning of each 9 week period (August 16th, October 25th, January 10th and April 4th). There will be a 10 day grace period to pay before the child is not allowed to attend the Boys & Girls Club. The SRS Vision Card is accepted at all locations. Thanks to the generosity of Private Donors, we are able to provide a limited number of partial scholarships for children whose families can prove economic hardship. These scholarships are intended for families that are not receiving other forms of financial assistance for child care. There are no refunds.

Feb. 20th (President’s Day), February 23rd (Youth of the Year Gala – 21st & Opportunity ONLY) and April 6th (Good Friday)

2012 Summer Program – 21st & Opportunity and Oaklawn Clubs

This seven week summer program begins Monday, June 4th and ends Friday, July 20th. These Clubs will be open from 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. The cost per week is roughly $50 per child and equals $350 for the 7 week summer program. The cost covers planned daily activities, BGCSCK summer t-shirt, breakfast, lunch and afternoon snack and all field trip admission costs.

The 1st child in the family is $350 and each additional child in the immediate family is $325.

2011-2012 After-School Program - Haysville Middle School

“Be Great” is an after-school program offered by the Boys & Girls Club of South Central Kansas. This program, which begins Monday, August 29th and ends Tuesday, May 22nd, is filled with fun, exciting and educational activities that will keep the kids happy and safe after-school.

Requirements: The Boys & Girls Club is open to children entering the 6th-8th grades that are ambulatory and able to provide for their own personal needs in a 1:25 staff to child ratio setting. Participants not meeting the above requirements must complete and submit a special needs assessment form for review before admittance into the program.

Program Hours: The after-school program hours are Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday, between the hours of 2:45 p.m. and 5:30 p.m.

On-Site Activities: Activities include: technology, tutoring, physical education, homework help, character building, goal setting, sports, air hockey, foos ball, pool, table games, etc.

Program Fees: The cost for the entire school year is $30 per child. The cost covers daily activities, homework help and a snack.

Payment: The full payment is expected when the child begins attending the after school program. There will be a 10 day grace to pay before the child is not allowed to attend the Boys & Girls Club. The SRS Vision Card is accepted at all locations.

2012 Summer Program – Haysville Middle School

This six week summer program begins Monday, June 18th and ends Thursday, July 26th for children entering grades 6th – 8th in the fall. The program hours are from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Monday through Wednesday and 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Thursday. The cost for the entire 6 weeks is only $30.
